Coating and films
Solsep makes PDMS flat membranes for our own use as well as does toll-coating on all kind of different configurations and substrates (or makes films without substrate). These include hollow fibers: in and outside coats as well as tubular membranes.
Elements from all types of membranes
SolSep produces special devices for third parties, either for research, product piloting or marketing studies.
- Hollow fiber elements from PA, PI, teflon and ceramics have been made by SolSep.
- Applications were in gas separation, pervaporation and nanofiltration at high temperatures (150 ℃) or aggressive solvents.
- Some elements were used as chemical reactors for conversion in which aggressive solvents were used.
Pervaporation Elements
Solsep has developed special permeate spacers that make spiral wound elements an interesting concept for pervaporation.
The spacer increases mass transfer in the permeate channel so that intrinsic qualities of the membranes are met as closely as possible.
Membranes can be supplied by SolSep, or you may prefer your own membrane. Pervaporation elements can be used for the recovery of organics from water. Applications include recovery of ethanol, IPA, ABE (acetone, butanol, ethanol), aroma compounds, recovery of vapors.
Our elements have been used in connection with a continuous fermentation process. Here the membrane removed the valuable inhibiting component.
